Resources

In the process of conducting the ALTC project a number of resources were developed, and implemented and tested. They are included here on this web site in the hope that they will be of benefit to educators with an interest in clinical reasoning and/or the use of simulation.

Video clip

This video clip demonstrates an innovative simulation approach that employs the creative use of commercially prepared latex masks and other 'props' to bring unpredictable characters (such as 'Cyril Smith', 'Dudley Dawes' and 'Iva Sore') to life in the clinical laboratory setting. These characters model 'typical' patient responses and behaviours. They are the brainchild of Associate Professor Kerry Reid-Searl, from Central Queensland University. This simulation strategy is one that could well be mirrored in other settings in a cost effective way to deliver quality educational experiences. Kerry can be contacted on k.reid-searl@cqu.edu.au
