Professor George Hadjisophocleous, Industrial Research Chair, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada, has presented a overview of the fire-related research conducted by his group at Carleton University; in particular, he has concentrated on the development of design fires for commercial occupancies. Professor Hadjisophocleous has also covered his atrium smoke management systems and has described his large-scale fire research facility collocated with that of the National Research Council Canada.
