About Us

Internationally, early childhood eduction research is a strong and flourishing endeavor. Politically, early childhood education and care has been the focus of significant new policy and provision developments.

For  example, since 2009 Australian early childhood education have seen the introduction of paid parental leave universal provision for 4 year olds, a national early childhood curriculum framework and the requirement for University qualified teachers.

The Early Childhood Education and Care, School of Education at the University of Newcastle, strategic network brings together six researchers, two from the University of Newcastle, Korea and Hong Kong to collaborate around our common scholarly interest in the relationships of care that flow across and between parents, children, early childhood educators and carers.
