The Centre for Physical Activity and Nutrition investigates physical activity and nutrition for population health, with particular emphasis on education and health promotion strategies for chronic disease prevention, treatment and wellbeing.

The PRC is co-supported by the Faculty of Education and Arts (host faculty) and the Faculty of Health.

The PRC includes 37 University of Newcastle researchers (8 Principal and 29 Associate Researchers) from across the three Faculties (including at the Ourimbah campus) and 9 highly respected external Associate Researchers from national and international universities.

Currently there are over 33 RHD Students linked to the PRC and many Research Assistants.
