Research Partnerships

Clinical Nutrition Research Centre (CNRC) members have extensive experience in conducting multicentre clinical trials. The CNRC will further develop its capabilities for the design and conduct of joint clinical trials in Newcastle, Adelaide and Melbourne.

The CNRC attracts competitive grants from the National Health & Medical Research Council, National Heart Foundation, and other sources to support its multidisciplinary knowledge generation.

The CNRC has a unique stakeholder focus. Its members have

  • built productive research partnerships with food and nutraceutical producers both locally and internationally,
  • sourced Australian Research Council Linkage grants, Food Innovation grants, Cooperative Research Centre grants and research consultancies to support their translational research,
  • engaged postgraduate students and early career researchers with industry partners in collaborative research projects resulting in original outcomes published in high impact journals.

Collectively, CNRC members have an outstanding track record of engagement with food, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries both locally and internationally, resulting in advanced product development with substantiation of health claims.

Technology Transfer and Commercialisation

Each of the CNRC's collaborating institutions provide established technology transfer expertise, viz, Newcastle Innovation, ITEK and Swinburne Knowledge.

The CNRC hosts the Annual Food Industry Forum for Nutrition Research to foster stronger engagement between researchers and industry.
