Project description
This international collaboration between New Zealand, Italy and Australia will lead to a significantly improved, practice-oriented, analysis technique for the seismic assessment of new and existing unreinforced masonry buildings.
This development is needed so that structural engineers can accurately determine which of the existing buildings in our cities pose a significant hazard to the public in the event of a bigger than expected earthquake such as struck the city of Christchurch, New Zealand on the 22nd of February 2011.
