The Centre for the Study of Violence at the University of Newcastle (UON) is home to some of the world's foremost researchers and thought leaders in the study of violence, including concepts of violence, representations of violence, questions of interpersonal violence and issues of political and cultural violence.

Our research academics seek to better understand the global roots of contemporary violence by focusing on the origins, causes, and experience of violence from the 18th century to the present day.
