The M Clin Med has been developed in collaboration with NSW Health, specifically to provide a new career pathway for Hospitalists.

The program will:

  • develop doctors within the hospital medical workforce to be clinical leaders with a ‘generalist’ perspective across the hospital

  • provide participants with the appropriate knowledge, professional skills, attitudes, and ability to be effective communicators and clinical care co-ordinators across independent clinical disciplines and the gaps that exist in hospital processes

  • provide continuing education for doctors working in hospitals who wish to participate in a Masters-level university program to extend their knowledge or to gain the skills to conduct research-based system re-design

  • train doctors who wish to develop skills for clinical leadership roles within hospitals. This may include a range of existing and developing positions, such as senior hospitalist positions within NSW Health facilities.*
