| Mode of delivery | Sydney Campus All courses offered at the Sydney campus in the Master of Professional Accounting(MPAc) component of the Master of Professional Accounting (Advanced) will be offered on a semester basis. All courses in the Advanced component will be offered on a Trimester basis. Newcastle City Precinct This program will not be offered to commencing students at the Newcastle City Precinct in 2013. |

The Master of Professional Accounting (Advanced) program is designed for students with a degree in a field other than accounting who wish to obtain a sound introduction to accounting concepts and procedures. The program will encompass studies in financial and management accounting, finance, taxation, business law and auditing.

Applicants must have a recognised Bachelor degree or Postgraduate Diploma or a recognised Graduate Certificate; or a recognised Diploma and 2 years work experience; or a GMAT score of 550; or successfully completed 20 units of postgraduate University studies with a GPA of 5 or more and two years work experience; or successfully completed 30 units of postgraduate University studies with a GPA of 4 or more and two years work experience.
Students must meet the University's English Proficiency Requirements

The Master of Professional Accounting is accredited by the Professional Accounting Bodies of CPA Australia and The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA).
Graduation from an accredited accounting program facilitates initial entry to Associate membership of CPA Australia and (subject to employment and supervision requirements) eligibility for enrolment in the ICAA's CA Program.
Students completing the program will meet the academic requirements for Associate membership of CPA Australia and enrolment in the CPA Program, and for enrolment in the Chartered Accountants Program of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

Duration of the program is two years full-time study or part-time equivalent.
The Master of Professional Accounting (Advanced) requires students to complete 160 units of study. This is gained through completion of twelve core courses worth 10 units each, and four directed courses in either the Applied Finance or International Business Stream.
Grading of Degree
A Master degree shall be conferred as an Ordinary Degree, except that, in cases where a candidate has achieved a Grade Point Average of 6.0 or above, the degree will be conferred "With Distinction".
