This program is available only to students who have already commenced the program. New students should refer to the Graduate Certificate in Digital Media (This program has not commenced and is still undergoing final approval.)

The Graduate Certificate in Multimedia program provides a thorough basis to the study of digital multimedia. After successful completion of the Graduate Certificate, students may progress to the Master of Multimedia award. The masters program allows for a deeper examination of the field of digital multimedia, with opportunities to focus on some of the more specific, technical areas of multimedia via the elective options.

This degree provides students with specialist knowledge, production and management skills related to digital multimedia, underpinned by a thorough grounding in screen based design principles.

The support structures of the Student Support Unit will be available to assist any students with a disability or chronic illness. The Faculty accepts responsibility, in liaison with the Student Support Unit, for providing reasonable accommodations to allow students with disabilities to complete the program. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students will draw on the assistance and support provided by the Wollotuka Indigenous Support Unit.

The program can be completed over one trimester of full-time study or longer if preferred. Courses are offered on a trimester basis, i.e. three terms per year. Students may commence studies in January, May or September. Please refer to the Term dares on the University website at: www.newcastle.edu.au/dates/.

The Graduate Certificate in Multimedia program requires the completion of four courses worth a total of 40 units, chosen from the five prescribed courses listed.

Students who have satisfactorily completed the Graduate Certificate in Multimedia may apply for entry to the Master of Multimedia ad obtain full credit for studies completed.
