Program no longer available: This program information only applies to students who are currently enrolled in the Master of Scientific Studies (Callaghan Campus).

Postgraduate coursework in Science is undertaken in an integrated program comprising Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Masters Programs in the discipline areas of Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics and Physics.

The Overall aim of the program is to provide development and training in a discipline at an advanced level.

The Faculty accepts responsibility, in liaison with the Student Support Unit, for providing reasonable accommodations to allow students with disabilities to complete the program. The program can be completed over three semesters of full-time study or up to six year part-time. Courses are offered on a semester basis. Students may commence studies in February or July. Please refer to the Term dates on the University website at: http://www.newcastle.edu.au/dates/

The program requires the completion of 120 units made up of coursework (80 units) and a research project (40 units).

Students may undertake courses in two disciplines with the approval of the Head of School offering the courses.
