Career Summary

Biography

Jenny has completed a B.App.Sc (Physiotherapy) through The University of Sydney and a Master of Clinical Education through the University of New South Wales. She is currently enrolled in her PhD (2009) via Curtin University in Perth. The title of her research is 'ALI (Acute Lung Injury): Investigating and improving functional outcomes', which follows survivors of ALI from their admission to Intensive Care through their recovery and investigating the effect of exercise on this recovery. This research has attracted funding from both the Intensive Care Foundation and the Physiotherapy Research Foundation.

Jenny has worked within the acute hospital setting in both Sydney and Newcastle with the majority of her time spent in the areas of Critical Care and Cardiothoracic Surgery. During this time, roles included management of critically ill patients, supervision of staff and supervision of undergraduate physiotherapy students.

Jenny has been involved with The University of Newcastle Bachelor of Physiotherapy since it's inception. Her roles have included that of student educator and Conjoint Lecturer, and most recently as Lecturer in Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy.
