Biography

Research Expertise
I am at researcher at the University of Newcastle - Australia with the following interests of research in 1. Conducting wind orchestra in the areas of new repertoire and specially commissioned works for the genre. 2. Conducting 18th century opera pertaining to historically informed performance practice with special interest in the tempo indication of Mozart. 3. Supervision of PG students - historical informed performance, practice led research in the fields of wind ensemble and conducting. 4. Australian historical recordings relating to informed performance practice 5. Hector Crawford's contribution to Australia's cultural history through hid radio years 1945-1957 through programs such as the Mobil Quest, Opera for the People and Music for the People. A research focus developed during my candidature for M.Mus where the performing practice of the basset clarinet was explored in preparing a performance edition of the Mozart Clarinet Quintet K581.

Teaching Experience: 1. One on one clarinet teaching at both non-tertiary and tertiary level (undergraduate and post graduate) 2. One on one and class teaching of conducting at both non-tertiary and tertiary level (undergraduate and post graduate). 3. Class teaching for Academic Courses for undergraduate students. 4. Ensemble coaching in chamber music at undergraduate level. 5. Ensemble coaching in large ensemble (wind orchestra).
