Career Summary

Biography

Elizabeth is a lecturer in Statistics with the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences. Previously, she was a research academic with the School of Medicine and Population Health where her role entailed supervision of statistical services and staff, statistical consultant for academic and project staff and postgraduate students and lecturer in Biostatistics. Some research projects with which she was and continues to be involved include assessing strengths of interventions at oncologist level to aid in improving needs of patients.

A focus of her PhD was on the investigation of the longitudinal relationship between life events and both physical and mental health. Elizabeth adapted and extended statistical methods including Bayesian, longitudinal, structural equation and meta-analysis models. Prior to completing her PhD, Elizabeth lectured in Statistics and acted as statistical consultant to staff and students from the School of Behavioural Sciences and other schools within the University and to external organizations, which involved extensive exposure to health applications.

She has several manuscripts accepted for publication, has presented at international and national conferences. She has supervised masters students by coursework in Health, Honours students and is currently supervising PhD students. Elizabeth has secured $256 500 in grant funding as a chief investigator and $13000 as an associate investigator. She is a member of the Australian Statistics Society. She has been a reviewer for NHMRC project grants and the Medical Journal of Australia.
