Career Summary
Biography
Elicia is a PhD candidate in the School of Humanities and Social Science at the University of Newcastle. Her current research is in Australian women's history with particular focus on the experiences and accomplishments of widows and unmarried women both during and after World War I. On 27 January 2017, Elicia received the National Council of Women (NSW) Australian History Award in recognition of her research into this important aspect of Australian women's history.
In 2015 Elicia completed a Bachelor of Arts (Honours Class I) in the discipline of History at the University of Newcastle and received the University Medal. Her research thesis examined the relationship between Western Australia's Chief Protector of Aborigines, A. O. Neville and the New Norcia mission during the period 1915 to 1940. In late 2015 Elicia received an Australian Postgraduate Award in order to further her studies.
