Classification

1. The degree of Master of Teaching shall be a degree by coursework offered in the Faculty of Education and Arts.

Admission to Candidature

2.  An applicant for admission to candidature shall:

(a) have satisfied the requirements for admission to the degree of Bachelor of the University or other university or tertiary institution approved by the Faculty Board, and possess such other qualifications, or professional experience, and/or other relevant attributes as may be approved by the Faculty Board; and

(b) produce evidence of possessing such other qualifications, professional experience, and/or other relevant attributes as may be approved by the Faculty Board.

Qualification for the Degree

3. To qualify for admission to the Master degree, a candidate shall satisfactorily complete a program of study approved by the Academic Senate totalling not less than 160 units.

Program Duration

4. Except with the permission of the Pro-Vice Chancellor a candidate shall complete the program within 4 years of study from the date of commencement.

Grading of the Degree

5. The degree will be awarded as an ordinary degree, or

6. The degree will be awarded 'with Distinction' to those students who gain a GPA of 6.0 or over based on all studies undertaken in the program.
