Borrowing Privileges
-
Members of staff who are undertaking University courses must use their student card to borrow course material.
-
With the exception of some material, staff are able to borrow from the library for a 12 week period subject to recall after 14 days if the material is requested by another user.
-
If the material is not returned within 10 days of recall or the due date, a notice is sent and, if necessary, followed up by telephone.
-
A third notice is sent at 80 days overdue, and an invoice for the cost of replacing the book is sent at 100 days.
Penalties
-
The University Librarian has the authority to withdraw borrowing privileges from staff who:
-
fail to or refuse to return material to the library after receiving at recall notice which results from a request by another user for that material; or
-
fail to or refuse to return material to the library after receiving 4 overdue notices (the 4th being an invoice for the cost of replacing the book). The 3rd or pre-invoice notice at 80 days will carry a warning that borrowing privileges will be suspended at the 100 day overdue or invoice stage.
-
-
Borrowing privileges will be restored when the material is returned or at the discretion of the University Librarian.
