Admission to Candidature

1. An applicant for admission to candidature to the Bachelor of Occupational Health and Safety shall satisfy the appropriate admission criteria from the Faculty of Health Admission and Selection Policy.

Qualification for Admission to the Degree

2. To qualify for admission to the degree a candidate shall pass the program of study approved by the Academic Senate totalling 240 units.

Transfer of Candidature

3. Candidates for the degree of Bachelor of Occupational Health and Safety who have satisfied the requirements for the Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety may be permitted by the Pro Vice-Chancellor to transfer candidature to the Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. Candidates wishing to transfer shall apply in writing to the Pro Vice-Chancellor for permission to do so.

Grading of the Degree

4. The Degree shall be conferred as an Ordinary Degree except in cases where a candidate’s performance has reached a standard determined by the Pro Vice-Chancellor on the recommendation of the Head of School, the degree may be conferred 'With Distinction'.

Time Requirements

5. Except with the permission of the Pro Vice-Chancellor, a candidate shall complete requirements for the program within eight years of study.

 

NOTE 1:  The Bachelor of Occupational Health and Safety will be disestablished from 1 January 2012 contingent upon all students having completed the program. (Council C09:045 13 March 2009).
