PhD Scholarship for Indigenous Australian applicants

This scholarship is open to Indigenous Australian applicants who are interested in undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the University of Newcastle.There are no restrictions on the area or discipline of research.
One scholarship is available to an Indigenous Australian , who will be supported with a stipend to the value of $25,392 per annum in 2014 (tax free and indexed annually). The scholarship will be paid fortnightly for a period of 3 years, with the possibility of a 6 month extension. Students will also receive a laptop and $1,500 per annum for research expenses. Funding will also be made available to assist with relocation and establishment.
This scholarship is available to Indigenous Australians only. Eligible candidates will be undertaking their research full-time and have a Bachelor Degree with Honours Class One or have equivalent qualifications and/or experience.
