PHD SCHOLARSHIP - Operations Research and Combinatorial Optimisation

A PhD scholarship is available within the school of Mathematical and Physical Sciences for a student to investigate The Aircraft Landing Problem under the supervision of Dr Amir Salehipour.

The Aircraft Landing Problem (ALP) is an important class of scheduling problems.

Optimal solution of an ALP has applications in the areas of transportation and health care delivery, providing significant benefits to systems experiencing long delays.

Available solution methodologies for the ALP cannot solve very large size instances of the problem.

This PhD project will build the optimization tools to advance current solution methodologies for the ALP.

SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS

Scholarship value: $26,282 p.a., indexed in January each year. The scholarship is for a period of three and a half years.

ELIGIBILITY

This scholarship is open to domestic and international students.
