'Survival Stations' in the Library fuel late night study for budget conscious students

Three new 'survival stations' recently installed in the Information Commons at the Auchmuty, Ourimbah and City campus libraries are a hit with students. Each has a kitchenette with microwaves and hot water facilities – perfect for making hot drinks or heating up food.

Time poor or budget conscious students now have somewhere to grab a hot drink and heat up a meal between lectures or after the cafes have closed. They're especially popular with students studying late in the evenings who want something more substantial than chips and chocolate from a vending machine to see them through the night.

The survival stations are available 24 hours a day during semester in the Library's Information Commons. They are a response to feedback received from students in our Library Customer Satisfaction surveys requesting hot water and microwave facilities and were installed with the help of SSAF funding.
