Newcastle Open Day

Future students and their families in the Hunter will have a chance to explore their local world-class university this Saturday at the University of Newcastle Callaghan campus.

The annual Open Day provides visitors with a unique opportunity to learn about the wide range of degrees and courses offered locally. Open Day visitors can speak face-to-face with staff and students, attend presentations, tour campus facilities and explore interactive displays and demonstrations, while gaining an experience of what life at a world-class university is all about.

"We're proud of the fact that we are in the top 3 per cent of universities in the world, according to two global independent ranking authorities*. This means out of more than 9,000 universities in the world we are in the top 300," University of Newcastle Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Andrew Parfitt, said.

"These rankings highlight our strengths in research outcomes, the quality of our staff, the employability of our graduates and our international networks. They reflect the key pillars of what makes a university world-class in today's landscape."

"Whether you are coming straight out of high school and are not sure of what you want to do, or are thinking about a change of career, the University of Newcastle can help with all your queries. At our Newcastle Open Day you can attend careers presentations where you will hear about the factors to consider when deciding on a degree. Staff and students will also be on hand to offer tailored advice about where a degree could take you."
