Tour the state of the art Cancer and Pregnancy laboratories to see where the future of medical research lies. Visit the new HMRI Clinical Trials Centre and learn first hand from our researchers about the different trials happening at HMRI that are benefiting the Hunter community right now.

Hear about the latest therapies and research discoveries from six of HMRI's leading researchers who will provide a 20 minute snapshot about the latest research discoveries in Nutrition, Cancer, Stroke, Genetics, Personalized Medicine, and Asthma.

Both children and adults can be involved in the interactive expo displays and learn about some of HMRI's life-changing research, including radiology tests and models, a toxicology booth featuring poisonous Australian insects, a women's health booth, Computer based cognitive testing, Cancer Clinical trial and biobank information plus much more.

There will also be a special science corner where kids can make edible DNA models, touch and feel live research displays and take part in a healthy kids training session.

Then join us for a Q & A debate with seven of the Hunter's leading researchers who will answer and debate a series of pre-selected questions and topics from the audience. These questions can be submitted through the HMRI website, via Twitter, or on the day (Registrations for this session strongly encouraged as seats are limited).

Finish off the day at the special meet-the-researcher cocktail party. This exclusive ticketed event will allow community guests to meet with the researchers one-on-one in a special and intimate setting. Enjoy a quiet drink and canapés, and take the chance to ask the region's leading experts about the health and medical research issues that interest you.

HMRI open day will be held 26 September 2013.
