Nominations for NUsport Board
Nominations are invited from students, non-casual members of University staff and Conjoint Academics for two (2) positions of company director on the NUsport Board for the next two (2) years.
NUsport is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee. NUsport is responsible to its stakeholders for pursuing the goals set out in the Objects of its constitution. The stakeholders are the students, staff and graduates of the University of Newcastle and the University itself. The stakeholders developed the facilities managed by NUsport and established the company. The stakeholder groups are represented on the NUsport Board.
As a not-for-profit company, the income and property of NUsport must be applied to the promotion of its objects and income or property cannot be paid or transferred to Members. Directors serve in a strictly honorary capacity and they cannot be paid or hold a salaried position within NUsport.
An understanding of sport in universities and of the fitness industry is important. Expressions of interest from University staff with accounting, business, legal or marketing expertise, who participate in sport, exercise or fitness activities, are especially welcome.
