Explore our world and discover your future at Central Coast Open Day
Come along to Central Coast Open Day on Saturday 18 August to explore and discover the wide range of study and training options available in the region.
With the University of Newcastle, TAFE Central Coast Campuses and Central Coast Community College located on a multi-sector campus, the annual Open Day provides visitors with a unique opportunity to learn about degrees and courses offered by the three education providers.
University of Newcastle Executive Manager Campus Partnerships, Linda Cooper, encouraged anyone considering their education options to visit the campus, where they can speak face-to-face to staff and students, attend presentations and view demonstrations in the expo areas.
“The multi-sector structure at the campus makes it easy for students to access a wide range of learning and training programs, including 16 University undergraduate degrees and two double degrees, more than 180 TAFE tertiary and vocational programs and over 800 Community College courses.
“I encourage anyone considering furthering their education, changing careers or upgrading their workplace skills to come and experience what we have to offer,” Ms Cooper said.
“The Coming to Uni sessions delivered by our staff and students will offer prospective students insight into what to expect in their first year of study,” Ms Cooper said.
Campus Director for TAFE Central Coast Campuses, Michelle Lamb said, “Open Day would allow visitors to see first-hand, the great choice of study options available on the Central Coast, including qualifications spanning an incredibly wide variety of careers.”
If people are interested in finding out how they can build on existing qualifications, or study a Community College or TAFE course to enter University, the Pathways presentation will provide information.
Visitors can also tour the recently completed $20 million expansion of the campus, including the revamped library, the new Exercise Sports Science and Psychology building and the Education and Nursing building.
The expanded facilities are providing additional study and learning facilities and delivering significant benefits to the Central Coast campus community,” Ms Cooper said.
People are encouraged to go online where they can register their attendance and interactively plan their day.
