Challenge to spark young bright minds

More than 1,500 of the Hunter’s brightest young minds will be put to the test this week during the 2012 Ausgrid Newcastle Science and Engineering Challenge.
Developed by the University of Newcastle’s Faculty of Science and Information Technology and the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment in 2000, the innovative program encourages high school students’ interest in science and engineering by engaging them in fun and practical activities.
The event involves schools from the Newcastle and Maitland areas and will be held at Newcastle Basketball Stadium, Young Road Broadmeadow until Friday.
