Artists show their virtual reality
The University Gallery is partnering with Sydney’s King Street Gallery to showcase the works of eight of Australia’s leading contemporary landscape artists. Each artist approaches the landscape from their private world depicting their own virtual reality.
The exhibition of urban and remote landscapes features Archibald people’s choice winner Jenny Sages, as well as Leo Robba, Amanda Penrose Hart, Elisabeth Cummings and Idris Murphy.
John Turier’s work returns us to Newcastle beach and the grounding of the Pasha Bulker.
Virtual Reality: Interpreting the Landscape runs at the University Gallery until August 11. Gallery hours are from Wednesday to Saturday 12pm to 6pm or by appointment.
