The NSW Director-General of Health, Dr Mary Foley, has officially launched an innovative University of Newcastle Masters program for doctors working in the state’s hospitals.

The Master of Clinical Medicine (Leadership and Management) will equip doctors with the clinical leadership and management skills to coordinate patient care and drive improvements in hospital systems. 

Developed in collaboration with NSW Health, the program trains doctors part-time over two years while they work.  

The degree program is designed to create a hospital-wide perspective on patient care.  It will equip doctors with the high-level skills required for leadership positions and train them as effective communicators able to coordinate care across a range of disciplines and bridge gaps in hospital processes.
