University of Newcastle staff and students will be on hand to talk to prospective students about study options and to give help changing preferences or applying for alternative entry options, at an Advisory Day on Wednesday 4 January 2012.

Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Services), Trevor Gerdsen, said the Advisory Day was for all prospective students, including those who wanted to change their preferences, but would be particularly useful for people who had received an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) that was higher or lower than expected.

“Staff will be available to help students with changing their preferences, alternative entry pathways and other study options.”

The Newcastle, Central Coast and Port Macquarie campuses will each host an Advisory Day on January 4.

A second Advisory Day will be held at all University campuses on Thursday 19 January after the release of Main Round offers.

Prospective students have until Wednesday 5 January 2012 to change their preferences for consideration in UAC’s Main Round offers, which will be released at 9pm on Wednesday 18 January 2012.

Late applications for 2012 will be accepted by UAC until Thursday 2 February.  Late fees apply.

- Newcastle campus (Callaghan), 2pm to 6pm, Great Hall, University Drive, Callaghan.
- Central Coast campus (Ourimbah), 2pm to 6pm, Tourism and Hospitality building, Chittaway Road, Ourimbah.
- Port Macquarie campus, 2pm to 6pm, A Block, Widderson Street, Port Macquarie.
