The University of Newcastle’s Professor Derek Smith has been awarded a Medal for Outstanding Services to the Australasian College of Tropical Medicine (ACTM).
The ACTM is the pre-eminent organisation in the Australasian region representing professional interests in tropical medicine and has awarded only eight Medals for Outstanding Services to the College in its 20 year history.
Professor Derek Smith is based at the University of Newcastle’s Central Coast campus. His interests include the emerging fields of tropical occupational health and occupational travel medicine. He is also Editor-in-Chief of the Annals of the ACTM.
