International flavours will be served up at the University of Newcastle this week to celebrate our diverse society during Harmony Week, 21-25 March 2011.
Kicking off tomorrow, the University will host a range of activities throughout the week including A Taste of Harmony - an event held on Thursday to encourage staff and students to taste dishes and flavours from around the world.
A student photographic exhibition depicting the cultural diversity on campus through images of students and places, will also be on display in the Auchmuty Library all week.
Harmony Week is celebrated around Australia in March each year and encourages the nation to celebrate its cultural diversity. The message of Harmony Week 2011 is ‘everyone belongs’ and encourages the community to celebrate the different cultures that make Australia a great place to live.
