Newcastle joins world leaders at Biomarker discovery conference
A University of Newcastle researcher will join other world leaders in data analytical techniques for biomarker identification at this week’s inaugural Biomarker Discovery Conference in Shoal Bay.
Professor Pablo Moscato, the University’s Co-Director and Founder of the Priority Research Centre for Bioinformatics, Biomarker Discovery and Information-based Medicine, is one of the three co-convenors for the conference.
The Biomarker conference will bring together the latest innovative techniques in Biomarker Discovery using genomic, proteomic and metabolomic tools and methods. Cancer and neurobiology will be important disease themes as the meeting focuses on novel attempts to discover and exploit biomarker signatures.
Professor Moscato, who is also the co-leader of the Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI) Information-based Medicine program, will present findings from his research paper titled Cancer Biomarker Discovery: The Entropic Hallmark, published in the highly-regarded PLoS ONE journal.
Professor Moscato’s research, as lead senior author or collaborator, has already been published in the PLoS ONE journal on eight other occasions this year, including twice last week.
