A graphic novel written and illustrated by students and lecturers from the University of Newcastle will be launched at Wallsend Library tonight.
Scribble Volume 1 features original stories and artworks created by the Graphic Novel Collective - a group consisting of five students and two lecturers from the School of Design, Communications and Information and Technology.
Collective member Trevor Weekes, from the Faculty of Science and Information and Technology, said graphic novels had the power to reach people from all walks of life through visual language.
"There is no subject that cannot be illustrated through this medium, be it race, religion or politics," he said.
The artwork from Scribble Volume 1 will be on display at the library until September 18.
Picture opportunity: The Scribble Volume 1 book launch and exhibition opening will be held Thursday 5 August from 6.30pm at Wallsend Library.
