Prestigious award for Deputy Vice-Chancellor

University of Newcastle Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Global Relations), Professor Kevin McConkey has been recognised by the University of Queensland for his outstanding contributions to psychological research, leadership and community service.

University of Newcastle Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Global Relations), Professor Kevin McConkey has been recognised by the University of Queensland for his outstanding contributions to psychological research, leadership and community service.

Professor McConkey, who completed his bachelor and doctoral degrees at the University of Queensland, was presented with the School of Psychology Distinguished Alumni Award at the University of Queensland Centenary Alumni Reunion.

Throughout his profession, Professor McConkey's research has covered hypnosis, memory, and professional practice and ethics. He has been a public advocate for psychological science and practice, and has played a major role in shaping contemporary psychology in Australia.
