The University of Newcastle is poised for strong growth over the next decade – more students and staff, more research, more community engagement. With government and community support, the University's development strategy will include expansion into the city.

The NSW Government and the University are calling for expressions of interest from private sector partners in the Stage 1 development of the proposed Newcastle City campus. Stage 1 will establish the business school in the city comprising 18,000m^² of space for 2,500 students and 100 staff.
