University launches new prize for Indigenous artists

Contemporary Indigenous artists will vie for a new art prize as part of an exhibition representing a fusion between western and Indigenous culture.

Contemporary Indigenous artists will vie for a new art prize as part of an exhibition representing a fusion between western and Indigenous culture.

The inaugural Wollotuka Institute Acquisitive Art Prize exhibition will be opened at The University Gallery at 5.30pm on Wednesday 2 December 2009. The opening will celebrate contemporary Indigenous culture with bush tucker and dancing and well-known Indigenous artist Adam Hill will announce the winner of the $2,000 prize.

The exhibition is on display in The University Gallery from Wednesday 2 until Sunday 6 December 2009. The University Gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday from 12 - 6pm.
