Visiting expert in environmental and occupational toxicology

The WorkCover NSW Research Centre of Excellence (WRCE) will host a visiting expert in environmental toxicology next week at the University of Newcastle's Central Coast campus.

The WorkCover NSW Research Centre of Excellence (WRCE) will host a visiting expert in environmental toxicology next week at the University of Newcastle's Central Coast campus.

Professor Ping-Chi Hsu will present a seminar discussing occupational and environmental risks to male reproductive health. Professor Hsu is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Safety, Health and Environmental Engineering at the National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology in Taiwan.

His research has focussed on different areas of environmental toxicology and he has been published in many leading scientific journals including the Lancet, the Journal of the American Medical Association and Environmental Health Perspectives.

Director of the WRCE Professor Derek Smith said he was delighted to host such a world-renowned researcher.

"Hosting Professor Hsu will help lay the foundations for extended international collaboration in occupational and environmental health research at the University of Newcastle."

The seminar will be held Tuesday 23 June 2009 between 11am and 12pm in E1.32 at the Central Coast campus. All staff are welcome to attend.
