The University Gallery presents a journey into the unknown

PhD student Alf Scott explores themes of dystopia, utopia and fantasia in the latest exhibition at The University Gallery.

Mr Scott's work - Dystopia, Utopia, Fantasia: a journey into the unknown - features paintings populated with two-dimensional puppet-like creatures that explore Newcastle's penal settlement between 1801 and 1813.

Dystopia, Utopia, Fantasia: a journey into the unknown will be exhibited in The University Gallery from Wednesday 1 October - Friday 10 October 2008. The University Gallery is open Wednesday to Friday from 12 - 6pm.

The exhibition will be officially opened at 4pm on Friday 3 October 2008 by Associate Professor Allan Chawner from the School of Drama, Fine Art and Music (incorporating The Conservatorium).
