Public lecture - Djon Mundine OAM

The School of Humanities and Social Science in the Faculty of Education and Arts presents Djon Mundine OAM, the Indigenous Curator - Contemporary Art at the Campbelltown Art Centre.

His lecture, 'Heimat', will focus on Aboriginal art and history.

Djon Mundine is a member of the Bandjalung people of northern New South Wales. He has had an extended career as a curator, activist, writer, and occasional artist and is renowned as the concept curator for the Aboriginal memorial installation permanently exhibited at the National Gallery of Australia.

Djon Mundine will speak at the Newcastle Region Art Gallery in Laman Street, Newcastle, on Friday 29 August 2008 at 6pm.

University staff, students and members of the public are welcome.
