Meet your future at Info Day 2008
The University of Newcastle Central Coast campus at Ourimbah is opening its doors for the annual Info Day on Saturday 23 August, giving potential students the chance to find out more about local study options.
"The Central Coast campus is the region's educational hub with a host of study options from University degrees, TAFE programs and career, business and lifestyle courses through the Central Coast Community College," Acting Pro Vice-Chancellor and Director Associate Professor Bill Gladstone said.
"Whether you are in your final year of high school, changing career or furthering your education, Info Day is a great opportunity to find out more about what the campus has to offer.
"You can find out about full and part-time University degree programs or TAFE and Community College courses, discuss options face-to-face with staff and students, and gather all the information you need to make an informed choice about your future.
"If it's further University study you are interested in, staff will also be on hand to talk about postgraduate options."
Applications for admission into University degree programs for 2009 close on Tuesday 30 September, and can only be made online via the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) website. To assist with online entry, the University will open its Student Hubs on Info Day so people can apply on the day. Staff will be on hand to help with the application process.
Info Day aims to help potential students and their families get a feel for campus life and will include course presentations, tours, interactive displays and live performances.
"Visitors can chat one-one-one with staff from the University, TAFE and the Community College. They can also attend presentations, take a tour of the campus facilities including the labs, on-campus accommodation, the library and much more," Associate Professor Gladstone said.
"We're also holding presentations for parents, sessions about admissions and fees, and discussions on what first-year students can expect when they start their studies."
More information is available at the Meet Your Future website.
Information Day will be held from 10am to 3pm on Saturday 23 August at the Central Coast campus, Chittaway Road, Ourimbah.
