Special performance to remember popular colleague
The University of Newcastle will host two special performances of the award-winning musical Blood Brothers to raise money for the Glen Avery Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Mr Avery, who died suddenly in January this year, was a popular University of Newcastle staff member and a passionate theatre performer.
Well-known actor and musician Jon English will feature in the special performances of the CONDA (City Of Newcastle Drama Award) winning production of Willy Russell's Blood Brothers.
Proceeds from the performances will go to the Glen Avery Memorial Scholarship Fund to support a student in the area of performing arts each year.
Blood Brothers will run on Monday 30 June and Tuesday 1 July 2008 at 8pm in the University of Newcastle's Drama Theatre, Newcastle campus (Callaghan). Tickets are available through Ticketek on 02 4929 1977. Tickets are $25 for adults and $19 for concessions.
