The University of Newcastle is pleased to be joining with the NSW Teacher Education Council (TEC) to host their Annual Conference and Professional Experience Roundtable for 2008.

As the peak body for NSW universities and teacher education institutions, the TEC is positioned to play a crucial role in the development and implementation of the current Federal Government's proposed 'education revolution'. Producing graduate teachers who have deep knowledge and understanding of their students, of excellent teaching practice, and of schooling's role in society must be at the core of any broad attempt to reform education. The commitment of NSW teacher educators, researchers and practitioners to delivering high-quality teacher education programs and professional experiences is critical.
