Staff will take to the stage this week to showcase their diverse musical talents in a concert highlighting the new direction of the University of Newcastle's Conservatorium.
The Creative Conservatorium will feature work in styles as diverse as funk, jazz, Latin American and classical, and include collaborations from staff in the School of Drama, Fine Art and Music (incorporating the Conservatorium).
Ms Helen English, Chair of the Concerts and Events Committee, said the concert would feature the premiere of Colin Spiers' Memory for soprano and piano.
The Creative Conservatorium will run in the Harold Lobb Concert Hall at the University of Newcastle's Conservatorium, on Friday 6 June 2008 at 7.30pm. Tickets are available at the door (prices range from $10 - $20).
