Wind Orchestra takes on superhero's tale
The premiere of an epic masterpiece following the highs and lows of a superhero's adventure will be the feature piece of the University of Newcastle's Wind Orchestra concert this week.
Composed by Mr Stephen Bailey, the piece follows the movements of his alter ego Super Steve during battles against his nemesis and the eventual triumph over evil.
Mr Ian Cook, Conductor of the Wind Orchestra, said the premiere was just one piece in the concert's diverse line-up which would exhibit the flexibility and diversity of the ensemble.
The concert will run in the Harold Lobb Concert Hall at the University of Newcastle's Conservatorium, on Saturday 7 June 2008 at 8pm. Tickets are available at the door (prices range from $5 - $15).
