A brief reminder to all students that the roads on the campus are designated as public roads. As a consequence, the NSW road rules and regulations apply to these roads and NSW Police enforce these rules.

The general campus speed limit is 40 km an hour. Anyone coming onto campus needs to be aware that the NSW Police will issue fines if they detect drivers exceeding the speed limits on campus. In order to ensure the ongoing safety of students, staff and visitors to the University of Newcastle, road users are urged to be vigilant in their adherence to campus speed limits at all times.
