Inaugural Delta Indigenous Scholarship awarded
Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Arts student Eironn Sleath has been rewarded for her academic achievements with the inaugural Delta Electricity Indigenous Student scholarship.
Introduced by Delta to support young Indigenous undergraduate students studying at the Central Coast campus, the aim of the $2,000 scholarship is to help reduce the financial costs associated with university study.
Originally from Gunnedah, Ms Sleath moved to Gosford last year to start a Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching degree, before this year deciding to specialise as a Primary School teacher.
"I appreciate the support Delta is giving me through this scholarship," Ms Sleath said. "Textbooks can be very expensive and with second semester just around the corner the scholarship will be a great help."
For the past seven years Delta Electricity has been providing financial support to the Central Coast campus through three annual scholarships to students at the University and two scholarships to TAFE.
The new scholarship builds on Delta's commitment to supporting the social, educational, cultural, sporting and business development of the Central Coast region.
Ms Sleath was presented with her scholarship by Delta's John Koller, Commercial Manager - Central Coast, this week.
