Special Guest Speaker, The Revd Dr Andrew McGowan, Warden of Trinity College, University of Melbourne. Andrew McGowan has lectured at Harvard and Yale and is the current President of the United Faculty of Theology in Melbourne. He also holds the rank of Associate Professor in the School of Historical Studies at the University of Melbourne and is a member of the General Synod, its Doctrine Commission and a Canon of St Paul's Cathedral, Melbourne.

Abstract: In this lecture, Andrew McGowan seeks to identify necessary elements of a theological renewal that must underpin ecclesial processes of renewal and growth in Australian Anglicanism. He will argue for moving beyond existing 'factional' assumptions and drawing inspiration and guidance from earlier cases where Anglicans sought and found new direction for the Church and its mission.
