Big thank you to our 'Blue Crew' - student mentors

Around 200 students who helped first year students settle into uni life will be back in the spotlight next week when the University formally thanks them for their help with the student mentoring program.

Easily recognisable from their blue shirts during O-Week celebrations, the mentors helped thousands of students by answering questions, showing them around the campuses, pointing them to the right information, and sharing their own experiences and knowledge about being at university.

All students are encouraged to come along to presentation events next week. Certificates of appreciation for student mentors will be presented at two events - Monday 17 March at the Callaghan campus and Wednesday 19 March at the Central Coast campus.

For the first time this year the student mentoring program was extended across the entire University having started at the Central Coast campus in 1999.

After successfully trialling the program in three faculties at the Callaghan campus last year, student's at all faculties at the three domestic campuses took part this year. The program is now firmly in place as a key part of O-Week activities.

The presentation on Monday will get underway at 11.30am in the Great Hall at the Callaghan campus and on Wednesday at 2pm in the Directors Unit at the Central Coast campus.
