Harmony Week
Harmony Week
The Equity & Diversity Unit, the International Office, Corporate Development & Community Partnerships and NUSA are working together to host a range of exciting events to celebrate Harmony Week from the 10 -15 March.
Harmony Day celebrates Australia's success as a diverse society. The focus of Harmony Day is to build social cohesion through the promotion of Respect, Participation and a sense of Belonging.
Events include a public debate, lunchtime entertainment and a Harmony Week display in the Auchmuty Library.
As well as the planned events, staff are encouraged to celebrate cultural diversity in their own work areas, by organising local events, such as a morning tea or lunch.
Stories from around the world
Staff and students are warmly invited to join with the International Office and the Equity and Diversity Unit for lunch as we celebrate Harmony Week.
Hear about what motivated four international students to study at the University of Newcastle, the challenges they faced along the way, some of their more humorous experiences they have had as they learn a new way of life, and what they have planned for the future.
