Award winning choir searching for new voices
Following a successful tour of the United Kingdom last year, the University of Newcastle's award winning Chamber Choir is searching for new voices to join the talented ensemble.
Chamber Choir Director, Dr Philip Matthias, said the Choir was looking to build on last year's achievements which included winning the National Choral Eisteddfods in Canberra and the McDonald's Performing Arts Challenge in Sydney.
"The Chamber Choir has a proud history and reputation for attracting aspiring singers," said Dr Matthias.
"Choral singing is demanding, but enormously rewarding. Our goal is to nurture choristors to develop their singing talent while contributing to the richness and eloquence of the Choir's sound."
Auditions for the Chamber Choir will be conducted at the Conservatorium of Music from 4pm on Tuesday 12, Friday 15 and 10am on Saturday 16 February 2008. Singers must register for an audition by calling the Conservatorium of Music on 02 4921 8900. Singers need to be able to perform a short piece showcasing their talent.
